Just don't be tempted to try front and rear entry at the same time, as there will be an input overload and the need for hardware support.

she got a bit confused as our port is on the front of machine, via a hub, but her friends is on a lappy at the rear.

If her friend is happy to have a lap to rear entry, then who are we to argue?

thanks for the concern RE but the wifes friend is ok about this, as is the wife, but I'm orf to local 'puter fair this weekend to get a bigger one for the wife for the very purpose of quick deployment when needed.

then I will no longer need the services of the wifes friend.

Really not sure if Ermm should be fiddling with his wife's friends apperatus. What if he re-formats it unxpectedly? If he had his own to hand it could be whipped out and deployed in a jiff.

good points again.

how many of you let friends use your apparatus.

Like I said earlier on in this fred, my wife has borrowed her friends appartus but she now says she needs a bigger one, capacity wise of course.

If the 'friend' gets half the pleasure, make sure they get half the expense!! Roll Eyes

I was the main fiddler when she first got it. had to show her how to insert it in the correct port, had to get it up and running as no drivers were available, and show her how to use it to its fullest ability.

will need to give her a lesson on the dangers of virus though as she has taken it to work today to try it back in her friends machine. she got a bit confused as our port is on the front of machine, via a hub, but her friends is on a lappy at the rear. Told her if its the wrong port she'll get no satisfaction with it so try another one.

That's very understanding and liberal of you ermmmmm.

Does she let you watch while she uses her friend's apparatus? Do you get the opportunity to fiddle with it?

Could be painfully expensive if it's premium rate.

If your apparatus clips to your pocket you might not need help. If it gets caught in your flies then you may need a 24/7 support number!

And keep it away from magnetic attractions, or its integrity will become corrupted.

Some will also clip on to your pocket. If you're going to go for hanging it round your neck, I'd watch your apparatus doesn't dangle down in front so that it gets caught in anything.
