A workaround is now in place and appears to be working well.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, beer in one hand, cigar in the other,  body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO WHAT A RIDE !

As some of our customers may know, there has been sporadic DNS issues on customers using @ukadsl.com broadband usernames.

Due to the randomness of the problem and indeed the nature of it in that it appears to affect any DNS server the customer uses, ours or OpenDNS for example, it has been very difficult to track down to a particular issue.

On the face of it, initial analysis was pushing us towards a possible virus/malware on customer's computers but late last night we came up with a potential reason which has been verified as the theoretical reason for the problems, this has been agreed with by our software/hardware vendors.

This is the only viable needle we have to go on at present in the haystack that has been built over the past day or so but are confident this is the root cause.
It is being taken forward and we are hoping for a resolution (or work around) some time this morning.

Further details will follow.
