Hi
We have been informed by BT that this problem has now been resolved and normal service levels should return as the packet loss issue has been resolved.

Hi,
This problem is still on going and has been escalated within BT Openreach as high as possible. Directors have visibility and 3rd party vendor engineers have been called in to assist in tracing problem. At this moment and time BT cannot find the cause of the problem and are manually trying to trace a common fault between a possible 50,000 circuits.
not an easy task by any standards.
We do not currently have an estimated time of resolution for this BT Major service failure.

Hi,
We have a further update on this. BT engineers have traced the problem to be with BT RAS RED 3.
This is at least some progress and they are now working to try and locate the problem within RED 3 system.

Hi,
Further monitoring by BT technical operations team is showing that there is indeed still an issue with the Glasgow BT RAS servers. This is still affecting in excess of 50,000 end user subscriber sessions across Scotland. We are working closely with BT Openreach to assist in resolving this issue as a very high priority.
We do apologise for this outage however it is affecting ALL service providers using the BT WBC back bone.

Hi,
This outage is currently still on going and unfortunately BT Openreach engineers are still trying to locate the cause of the problem which is affecting multiple BT BRAS systems in Glasgow.
Systems affected are BRAS1, 3,4,5 & 7 and engineers working on this are trying to trace the problem between these systems.
Symptoms are mainly intermittent email connectivity and very slow or non existent web browsing.

Hi,
There is currently an ongoing routing issue, which is in hand by BT Openreach engineers. This routing issue is so far only affecting Scotland.
Customers affected will get connected however web browsing and general Internet use will be very intermittent with a lot of packet loss. The original cause of this was due to a POP failure in Glasgow, however we have been told that the problem has now spread to more than 1 BT BRAS. This problem is affecting all ISP's using a BT backbone and is currently affecting 10,000 + subscriber session across Scotland.
We will keep you updated as and when we get further feed back from BT
